Amount under Vendors and Stock Management

It just irks the crap out of me that i cannot find one thing about the "Amount" value and what it is for under the add item and variations. I only see this on the computer dashboard, not the app. You'll see it at the bottom of what i copied and pasted from the page. 

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT IS USED FOR!

Hello and thanks for your question. I have not been able to see the "Amount" on my screen but I might be looking at a different screen. Can you attach an actual screen shot of your screen window? Are you in the Edit or Add Item in your inventory?

I want able to attach an image I tried. Under edit it add on the desktop  dashboard I has"amount" underneath where you put low stock alerts. It's right beneath and doesn't show unless it is a single item (not a variation) it says "amount" and has a "1234" place holder for the value that you can change to whatever you want. Shrugs.
