Adding additional value to an existing physical gift card

I have a customer with an existing gift card with an amount already on the card. The customer wants to add additional value to the card. Is this something I can do and how?

1. Start on your Checkout screen, then tap Library > Gift Cards.
   
   

2. Swipe or enter the 16-digit gift card number.
   
   

3. Select a default preset load value or if the option is enabled, enter a custom load amount.

   • If you swipe the gift card, the amount will automatically load.

   • If you manually enter the gift card number, tap Load.
      

4. To add additional items to the sale, tap the arrow to return to your item library or tap the keypad icon.
    

5. Tap Charge to complete the sale.
   Note: If you’re using a mobile device, or your tablet is being used in Portrait mode (vertically), tap Review Sale > Charge.

Say I have a customer with a physical gift card that has $10.00 on it and the customer wants to add an additional $20.00. If I were to process their card as you suggest will I have a customer card with $30.00 on it or do I end up with a card value of $20.00 with the $10.00 gone? I really don't want to experiment with a customer's card.
