Multiple barcodes to 1 SKU

I use multiple vendors to supply my goods.  They all carry the same items (let's call it "ABC") but instead of leaving the barcode alone, they cover it up and issue their own in-house barcode.  So now, I have 3 entries using up to 3 different barcodes and 3 different SKUs for the same item.

I sell online, but can only sell 1 of these items.  The other 2 will be out of stock. But sometimes vendor 1 doesn't have so I have to go to vendor 2 with a different barcode.

Same product, different barrcode.

Is there a way to "integrate" mu;tiple barcodes to a single SKU?

Thanks

John

You could do them as variations of 1 item, then only 1 supplier would be out of stock, you could receive them under 1 internal sku or UPC and label them with a barcode internally (square sells printers that can print from purchase order or library)

@HollandStore :

@JTPets has the right ideas:

1.  Have an Item ABC Different SKU's and Different GTINs

  1. Variation   Vendor A has SKU ?????  and GTIN HHHH
  2.  Variation  Vendor B has SKU $$$$ and GTIN GGGG

2  You can also have Item ABC   With the same GTIN's but different SKU's

  1.   Variation vendor A     SKU A     GTIN HHHH
  2.   Variation Vender B     SKU B     GTIN HHHH

3 You could also Do the Same SKU with your current GTINs from your vendors

  1.      Variation A for Vendor A     SKU   ABCD      GTIN  12345678
  2.      Variation B for Vendor B      SKU  ABCD       GTIN 87654321

4 Create all new items for each Vendor   I would not recommend.

When you have Identical SKU's or GTIN's in square and scan the GTIN or SKU that are multiple items,  you get a choice which one to select at your POS.

So say in your example Item ABC all have the same GTIN but the individual vendor covers this with their own SKU.  Scan their SKU to your SKU of a variation and leave the GTIN the same.  By doing this you can do a search by GTIN which would list all the Variations of that GTIN in your Back office in a web browser or through More-Items on your POS to see the individual counts of GTIN and the counts for each SKU.

Or as one of JTpets suggestion, enter Item ABC alone and have Square or you create your own SKU which covers the SKU's your vendors put on the item.

I personally like the idea of the Same GTIN and different SKUs for the item.  I use this when I change Jars for my Medium sized jars since they are all about the same size but look completely diffenent.   SKUs have a greater variety and lenght than a GTIN which must be a certain Length.
