How to set up customer subscriptions?

Hello!

I've just recently joined square and I am looking to create an account section for my customers where they can manage subscriptions etc.

I saw from some earlier threads that this was under development last year so i'm just wondering if this is now available?

I want to be able to provide them with a list of what will be added to their order this week along with the chance to change the contents of their subscription.

Is this available to do?

Thanks 🙂

Hey @TheVegLord, welcome to Square and the Seller Community 🙂

While we don't have a designed login feature (I think this is what you are looking for?) we do have a feature built for managing Subscriptions

Within your Square Dashboard, you can create customised subscription plans and add subscribers or generate links that you can share via a buy button on your website, QR code, SMS or email.

Both you and your customer have the option to pause and resume subscriptions. Your customer will then receive a notification that their subscription was paused or resumed. If they want to pause, resume, or cancel the subscription themselves, they can follow the Manage Subscription link included in all subscription notification emails.

Let me know if this is similar to what you had in mind? You can read the full details here

Great, Thank you!

Will there be an option for a designated login in the future?

Thanks again for your help 🙂

Anytime @TheVegLord

And yes, a customer login feature is something our Square Online team is working on.

I don't have a timeline at the moment but we'll be sure to announce it to the community once it is launched. I'll update this thread too!

Hello, I am still struggling with this one unfortunately.

What I'm looking to do is to add a "Subscribe to this item" button for individual products on my website as well as a "buy now" button.

I'd like for the customer to be able to choose the length of their subscription for the item they choose, i.e. weekly, monthly, fortnightly etc.

Please can you help?

Thanks

Hi there @TheVegLord

Sorry to hear that wasn't what you were really looking for.

Another option would be to create a Buy Button via Square Online Checkout links. You would select the accept a payment option and then you can set the frequency or you could create a few buy buttons, one for each subscription duration.

It would be the closest option to what you are looking for.

To create a Square Online Checkout buy button:

  1. In your online Square Dashboard, go to Online Checkout.
  2. Select Add button to the website.
  3. Add a title, button text, and amount and adjust the frequency of the payment.
  4. Add an optional image, and adjust the Advanced settings if needed.
  5. Click Continue to adjust the style that will be applied to all of your buy buttons.
  6. Select Copy to copy to HTML code, and paste somewhere that accepts embeddable code.

More info about adding buy buttons to your website.

Thanks Alegra.

I want to be able to add the button to a specific page on the website but the functionality doesn't seem to be there?

Hmmm, I just tested and I was able to add a couple of buttons to my homepage and all of my other pages.

Could you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing? @TheVegLord

This is what I made: (On this site I only have a homepage, but I tested on my other site with multiple pages after and the layout and process were the same)

Great thank you; am I able to add this button onto an existing page which already has a buy button?

I'm trying to allow customers the choice of being able to buy the item once, or buy the item on a subscription

Yes, I see what you mean. So I created three buy buttons and added them to the same page.

I pasted the code for each one, one after the other into the code section in the site editor. The only note is it lists the buttons one after the other, it doesn't seem to have the functionality to move them around.

Let me know if this makes sense @TheVegLord 👀

Of course.

Unfortunately, we can't add videos here, that would be easiest.

In this box, I pasted each individual code in, one after the other:

And this was the end result:
