Why Can’t Square Print Delivery Address, Customer Phone, and Total on the Same Receipt?

Come On Square? What is going on?  Are you seriously a POS system designed for restaurants?

 

I have been using a pos system for my restaurant for the past 15 years (not square) that has 100's of features that square does not - im so confused why its so behind on so many basic features.

 

We should be able to completely customize reciepts and the way and information that are printed on them.

 

We have deliveries , and accept delivery orders, but no reciepts print out for the drivers to take with all the information they require - this makes us have to print ORDER Tickets and CUSTOMER Tickets (one ticket with phone number and address, one ticket with price total) and send 2 reciepts with the driver for each order, this makes it VERY confusing for us.

 

We should be able to print out a single itemized reciept with a grand total, customer name, address and phone number.  Why is this not an option?

How are the delivery orders being generated? 

My online uber and doordash orders do not contain an address because they are generated 3rd party and the drivers have that information in their app

 

My online orders have a address on them because they are delivery

 

My POS regular orders do not have a receipt because they are paid in store and not delivery

 

If I am taking a delivery order over the phone, I input it as an invoice and mark it as a shipment in the invoice settings. Once they pay the bill a receipt is printed on the POS with address information.

Hello @LuigisLasagna !

 

As @JTPets said, delivery addresses print on all Square generated delivery tickets.

 

You mentioned in another thread that you're leaning on an AI solution for your ordering. This leads me to believer that your AI partner needs to better utilize the API when it comes to printing delivery tickets. That's not something that Square handles short of accepting and printing the data as it arrives.

From my research and the insights shared by our Square Champions above, the address is printed on delivery receipts. However, I understand that you want receipts for delivery orders to automatically include the customer’s phone number, address, and total on the same receipt.

 

I’m going to move this over to our Feature Request Board so the team can review it.

from the ai system the orders get sent to the restaurant pos and fall under the bills section 

 

we can only print the receipt from there in 2 formats and neither format has all of that information

 

Normally we send the drivers on delivery with 2 receipts (with all the info on each) and one reciept goes to customer and one for the drivers record to calculate their tips etc at the end of the night

 

the problem is that now we need to print 2 types of each receipt and send the driver with 4 receipts to do the same thing

 

i strongly feel that the printer set up and profiles etc in square don’t give us the freedom and options we should have to set this up easily - I have other another pos system and a online ordering system and both systems allow me to edit receipts in a much more advance format


I’m not trying to complain, just genuinely surprised
