We need to have open tabs save credit cards on file!

Hey Square Team,

We've been using Square since we started our business because it’s super reliable and easy to use. But I’ve seen some discussions about the platform not having a "save card on file" feature, and I wanted to bring this up again.

We run a riverboat business, and our customers often ask if they can start a tab while they’re on our cruises. Unfortunately, we can’t offer this because Square doesn’t have the option to save card info for later use.

This feature would make our lives a lot easier and help out a bunch of other business owners, especially those of us running bars or similar operations. We’d really appreciate it if the developers could consider adding this— it would mean a lot to our whole community.

Square does have the ability to add a "card on file" to a customer.  We use it routinely in my operation here for our volleyball customers so they don't have to bring their CC every week they play.

If you go to your customer directly in the dashboard and select a customer, you shoudl see this window open up with this selection;
