I have two Square Terminal devices and one Register device. The Terminals are setup using the "Shared Settings" options for devices, so they both the exact settings with respect to checkout, payment, etc.
For credit card payments, we do not wish to collect signatures nor wish to have printed authorization slips with the tip option; we only want to collect payment and tip information on screen and then the guest has the option at the very end (after tipping) to have a printed receipt if they so choose.
On one of the Terminals the tip on screen works fine: after selecting the payment method, we tap or insert the card, the tip screen pops up, they make whatever selection they'd like then the next screen offers them a receipt. On the other Terminal, we follow all the same steps but the tip on screen option doesn't show up. After tapping the card, it automatically goes to the customer receipt screen while printing the authorization receipt for the customer to make their tip election.
As I said, both Terminals have all the same settings in the Dashboard. I've also checked the settings on the devices themselves. On the device itself under Settings > Checkout I only have the 'Payment Types' option - there are no other options to adjust any settings related to checkout such as the sign and tip.
Since there does not seem to be anything else I can do either in the Dashboard or on the device to change the settings, I need to know how I can turn off this setting and just have the tip on screen option for both Terminals.
I'd also note that both devices are completely up to date, they're using the new layout design that was recently rolled out, etc. I also did a completely removed the devices from the dashboard, did a factory reset, and set both of them up again from scratch. None of which fixed the issue.
