TapMango - Initial review and questions

Hey all!

I'm moving from Toast, their rewards program, their ordering app, etc to Square + TapMango this week. It's been a crazy couple of weeks getting ready for the migration! I thought I'd share some things I've learned and ask a few questions.

I own a small but high-volume coffee shop in Ohio. I started looking at doing a branded mobile ordering app because I believe that COVID has given me an opportunity to grab real estate on cell phones. I'm most interested in the ability to push notifications.

I looked at every ordering app I could find. TapMango won out because of their pricing (highly negotiable btw) and technology. They were one of the few developers whose apps all had high ratings on the app & play store.

I'm very excited about 95% of what they do. Gamification of rewards. "Give $5 / Earn $5" referral options for my regulars. Easy to offer discounts when someone gives us online reviews. Mobile wallet. A full marketing package by email or text or push notifications. Etc. Etc.

I'm not happy at all with the other 5%... Namely, their lack of integration with Square for online orders. Right now the online or app order will come in on either their tablet or a virtual tablet installed on my Square Stand. My baristas will fulfill the order from there. That's gonna cause some workflow issues... They say there's a Square push integration in the works and should be live very soon. Until then, we'll all be highly inconvenienced.

QUESTIONS:

*Is anyone doing mobile ordering with TapMango and Square? I'd like to know how you handle the workflow. Do you rekey the order into Square for full reporting? If so, how do you pay out the ticket?

*Should I turn on Square Customer Profiles? I'm told that Square has more advanced reporting at the customer level so I'd like the transaction history in Square. My only profiles are my Toast Reward members. I've uploaded that list to TapMango for their loyalty program. If I also upload them into Square's Customer Profile, will I have issues with duplicates? If I don't, will TapMango update with Square? (TapMango will pull customer data from Square but I don't know if they'll push data back.)

*Any other things you wish you would have known?

I appreciate any insight anyone has and I'm happy to answer any questions for those that have them.

Thanks!

Bryce

We got it didn’t make they the training.  TapMango while is a great concept and I wished it worked with square would have doubled the amount of work did our staff.  If it fully integrated it would have been well worth it. So yes the 5% of the program is making the program a huge failure
