How do I rearrange the tiles on my Restaurants POS layout?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: does anyone know how to move the item tiles around on the ordering screen?

I have reordered my items within the menus but there are big gaps between the tiles. Does anyone know how to move them so they are all nice and neatly next to each other!? I have them in order of tile colours, not alphabetical order....

Thanks!

Thanks for your question, @ClaireMarion

To adjust the item tiles on your Restaurants POS layout, I recommend making these changes via your Square Dashboard on a web browser (I’ve found that using a computer for this is easiest for me).

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and navigate to Items & Orders > Menus.
  2. Select the menu you wish to edit from the Menu options.
  3. Click on Edit POS Layout.
  4. Your current display groups and items will automatically appear on your menu layout.
  5. In the Edit Grid panel, you can adjust the tile size, sort tiles, and add or delete pages.
  6. To rearrange tiles, simply drag and drop them to your desired location.
  7. Click the plus icon (+) on your grid to add existing items, display groups, create new items, or functions to your layout.
  8. To remove a tile, select it and click Remove Tile from the editing panel.
  9. Click Save to apply your changes.

For more detailed information, visit our Support Centre.

It may take a few minutes for these changes to appear on your POS. If you don’t see the updates after five minutes, try signing out of your Restaurants POS and signing back in using your Device Code (your device code can be found on the Dashboard under Settings > Device Management > Device Codes).

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. 🙂

Thanks for your question, @Legs

I've gone ahead and merged your post with this existing thread where I've previously provided instructions on how to edit the Restaurants POS Layout. Please see my Best Answer in this thread for instructions. 😊

In order to make the tile size wider, you'll want to make sure you have enough room on either side of the tile to expand outwards. Then, click on the tile you'd like to adjust, and press the Wide button. Please see my screenshot below for reference:
