Checking Gift Card Balances

Is there a way to check gift card balances on Square Register or Square Stand like you can when you look at transaction via dashboard? Like the GC last four is blue and then when you click it you get what the customer has left and the history of that gift card? We have several customer who have their gift card they purchased saved under their "Payment Methods" but we aren't able to quickly see what they have left without jumping through hoops to ask for physical card (which should be obsolete if the card was loaded onto loyalty account) or dig through email for their egift card information?

Hey there, @eagleroastery.  When I read your post, I was just sure that there was a way to do this after we added a customer to a transaction using the Guest tab, then clicking “View full profile.”  But what I got was this screen shot — showing some test gift cards attached to my profile, but as you can see NOT showing the current gift card balances, both of which are $10 in my case.  So ugh!

 

This is what we will now have to call a feature request.  You’ll need to head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request asking the Square Restaurants team to display the current balances of gift cards on file.  After you submit that, please come back here and post a link to your feature request because I, for one, would love to like/upvote it with my comments.

 

It’s definitely an idea that should bubble to the top of the priority list for the Restaurants POS product roadmap!
