Adapt KDS as a customer facing Now Serving number X display

Feature Request! Adapt KDS as a customer facing Now Serving number X display, so that customers can see how many orders are in front of theirs and feel better about the wait time.

 

When we forget to communicate wait times (unclear espection and uncertainty), it can lead to frustrations, damaged relationships, loss of business or even a bad review.

 

But what if they could see their order progress on a customer facing version of the KDS display.  In a similar way to how Uber Eats real-time driver tracking reduces customer frustration by knowing the driver's location and estimated arrival time.

Hi @Dulcedo_Coffee.  This is a really great idea, but there is nothing in Square KDS currently that will support this.   I suggest that you submit a formal feature request to the developers here, and wish you the best.

 

Also, you might have luck searching the Square App Marketplace to see if a third-party has developed such functionality already.
