Setting up Square Terminal where is sign in screen?

Trying to set up Square Terminal. First I tried to connect to my tablet's wifi hotspot. Terminal says "connected", and yet it won't continue past the "wifi or ethernet" page.  Then I tried to connect to Square app on my tablet, "Connect hardware - Square Terminal".  Square app then gave me a code to use on the "Sign In Page".  But my terminal won't go past the wifi/ethernet setup page, as I said before. SO now what???

@KellyJohnson Before you can connect the terminal to through the square app for a connected terminal, you have to get the terminal connected to the internet.  Is the only way you connect to the internet through your tablet's hotspot?
