Will Square Register work with Squarespace?

I have asked both Square and Squarespace for this answer and NOBODY can give me an answer I am happy with, maybe you folks can.  

I am opening a commercial store, and want to use Square for checkout.  We already use it for our craft shows.  

I have looked at the square register hardware.  For $800, I'll buy it....BUT... Asking Square if it works with Squarespace, I was referred to Squarespace.  The rep told me "Yes, absolutely it works, live integration and update of inventory".  Then I read an article here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035711431-Selling-in-person-with-Squarespace-po... that says "Note 

This integration doesn’t support Square Register, Stand, or Terminal, the countertop point of sale devices"

Can anyone tell me for sure, does Square Register work with Squarespace under any integrations?  If not will it work with Wordpress?  What will it work with?  Nobody can tell me.

I want 1 web site, 1 register, and all my inventory and pictures, and everything to sync.

Thank you....feeling frustrated over this lack of support from both vendors here.

The only thing I saw was I watched the Video for the Square Register, and on the video it says it has Preinstalled software to run POS, Retail or Resturants..... I am thinking that Pre-installed software is not compatible with Squarespace since you would need Squarespaces App.  You may want to ask in you can install other apps on the Register system.  

I found this article trying to understand if Squarespace was the same as Squareonline.  Basically this article says Squareup and Squarespace are two different companies.  The only thing is that they use the same readers.  Sounds like you would Download the Squarespace App and have to get some of the Square Readers.  Then with the Squarespace App on a device to be able to take inperson sales through SquareSpace.  If you use Square Apps to take credit Card payments instead of Squarespaces App for devices you would need to keep track of two inventories.

Here is how to setup :

Set up point of sale

When you have a Square account and a supported reader, you can set up point of sale in the Squarespace app.

1. Open the Squarespace app.
2. If prompted, log in or select your site.
3. Tap +, then tap Start new transaction.
4. Accept all three permissions. The app needs microphone permissions to accept the card reader for magstripe, which plugs into your headphone jack.

If prompted, tap Get started and follow the steps on the screen to connect your Square account, choose a location, and connect a card reader. If there’s no prompt, follow these steps to finish setting up point of sale.

From what I am getting is that Square and Squarespace both use the same hardware but when setting up your device with the App... instead of Downloading the Square App, you would just download and use the SquareSpace app.   I use Square Stands, they are basically Ipads that are in a nice stand that the powercord has a USB hub and connects to the power Data port on the Ipad.  So when I want to sign in to my Square account I had to download the Square for Retail app to process payments through Square.   I a thinking instead of downloading the Square POS or Squre for Retail app you would just download the Square Space App and then use your credentials from Square Space to login.  To test this, use your Cell or a Tablet and search for a Square Space App, download it and install it.  Then you can see what your catalog of items look like for selling in person.  You just will not be able to accept credit cards doing this test.  All you would need is a compatible Bluetooth / Charging Port connection to your tablet or cell to be able to complete a Tap or Insert (dip) payment.  If you sign up to create a Square account, Square will send a free Magnetic reader that plugs into data charging ports, just make sure you ask for the correct version for your device.  Android, Lighting or USB-C ports.  These readers you can also sometimes get at a Local Best Buy if you need to try it sooner or you can order through the links below after setting up a Square Account.

   Point of Sale (POS) allows you to sell your products in person with the Squarespace app on iOS. Your Squarespace inventory is beautifully displayed in the app, and it automatically stays in sync with your online store when you make a sale.  - This seems to leave the Register out and possibly an android Tablet.

   Which payment processors work with POS?

   Our POS works with Square. Simply connect a Square account and pair a reader to start accepting in-person payments. For online sales, you can also connect Stripe and PayPal to your store to accept payments on the web.

   Basically you will be using The SquareSpace App with an API that conects to your Square account to verify the credit card is valid. All this happens behind the scenes.  The only thing is instead of the Square Register you would need to look into the Square Stand since that uses as Ipad.

   I used 2 wifi only Ipads, and just in 2023 I added an Ipad from my cell provider that was a Christmas Promotion for about $99.00 but had to have a 2 yr agreement for a dataline.  

   For a SquareStand to operate it would require an internet connection through Wifi or a Cell signal in the Ipad.
