Square Register log in workaround?

Anyone know of any way to create an email address and login password for square register that isn't linked or the same as my Square account?

While I'm rarely away from the store I do have some trips coming up that I will have very limited communication available.

This morning Square register asked my employee to log in and that has me worried because I do not want them having access to that information and I can't remember the last time it prompted log in.

Is the account log in every x months or based on updates?

I have 2fa on so I'm not that worried about issues with my account but I honestly cycle through passwords so don't want to give them passwords they shouldnt have.

I think using a Device Code vs an email and password would be your best option. Device Codes allow you or your employees the ability to sign into a shared device without having to share your account password or use a verification code with 2-Step Verification. (Device Codes cannot be used to access your online Square Dashboard or account settings.)

To create a device code:

1. From your online Square Dashboard, navigate to Account & Settings > Business information > Devices.
2. Click Add a Point of Sale.
3. Enter a nickname, select a location, and click Create.
4. Take note of the device code, or send your code by entering an email or phone number > Send.
5. Open the Square app on your device, tap ≡ More, and sign out.
6. Tap Sign in – on the sign-in screen, tap Use a device code.
7. Enter the device code and tap Sign in.
