Second (third?) screen for Square register?
I'm using the Square register for my bakery. We love the customer facing screen. I'm wondering if it's possible to hook up a second screen that shows the items as they're being rung up, to set up where our pastries are packed by a second employee. We know we can print tickets or set up a kitchen display screen to display tickets, but they only print after the entire transaction is completed. We would rather our employee be able to see the items as they are being added to the bill (as shows on the customer facing screen) and be able to pack them in real-time, versus waiting for the entire transaction to be completed. We'd love it if we could hook up a second screen for this purpose! Any idea if this is an option? Thank you!

Hello @KingstonBread that's a great idea! I love the idea of having that info show up for your packers. In theory something like that should work, but the tricky thing I see being is the plug on the customer facing screen. If there was a "splitter" that could allow another plug in of a second display that could work. BUT i don't think that plug is any kind of standard like USB...it seems proprietary and I've never seen a splitter or hub that could accommodate a plug like that.
Maybe some else with a more tech background could give some input into this idea. It would be great if this could be done.
(The other issue may be if you don't also use kitchen displays or tickets, is that if the transaction get completed before the packer are finished; there isn't a way to recall that transaction on the screen. When it completes, the order goes away. So if the packers are not finished before the order completion they may loose a reference.)

Thanks for your reply! We actually have the customer facing screen plugged right into the back of the register, in other words we don’t use the cord at all. If we plugged the cord back into the bottom and purchased a second screen, would they both work at once? Is it possible to purchase just a second screen?

Those are great questions @KingstonBread , unfortunately I don't know if you could route a cable to a second display with the original display plugged in, and I don't have the parts to try this one out. This would be very interesting and helpful if it would work this way. Maybe this help topic about replacement parts/contacting support could get you an answer on this one.
