How to only.complete.a sale is drawer is closed

So, is there any additional hardware I can buy to make our register (Square register that is connected to register) only complete a sale with a closed drawer.

What I'm deally looking for is to make sure the drawer is shut at all times (some kind of alarm or beeper if kept open) also the girls are constantly leaving the drawer open (I am continuously telling them they must keep it shut to no avail) and of course you can complete a sale when it is open and I do not want that to happen.

I am trying to avoid someone not ringing a sale and collecting the money and pocketing it, at least if they have to give them change and  that is a detergent because they would have to open the drawer.

My only suggestion would be to lock the register drawers.  I'm curious, what happens if your girls get a customer paying with cash?  Would they call you or any other manager to the register to complete the sale?  There are a few businesses here that don't take cash payments.  Speaking with them about it they rarely have any pushback about it.  Maybe that's the route to go if you really feel like you can't trust your employees.

@Danielleknable Square doesn’t have a built in alarm, but you can buy an inline alarm that connects between your receipt printer and cash drawer.  It will alarm after a preset amount of time and not shut off until you close the drawer.  Below is a list of some options for you.  

These plug into your receipt printer’s drawer port and monitor the drawer’s status, sounding a buzzer if left open too long:

• POS Buzzer (POSBUZZ)
  Audible alarm when drawer pulse is triggered; no external power needed—plugs into Epson/Star drawer port  .
• Star Micronics BU01‑24‑A Ticket Alarm
  Mounts inline on the RJ12 port; compatible with Star printers; sounds on cash-drawer open signal  .
• Bixolon RBC‑100 external buzzer
  Designed for Bixolon printers but follows the same principle: plugs into the drawer port and alarms on drawer open  .

These alarms won’t prevent the sale, but they will alert the cashier (and your team) when the drawer stays open past a set period.  Hopefully one of these will work for you.
