Working Remotely My WiFi Not Working With Verizon Router

I’ve been working remotely for a while now, but lately, my WiFi has been super unreliable. Some days, the connection randomly drops, and video calls keep lagging. I’m using a Verizon Fios router and have tried basic troubleshooting, but I can't access the router admin interface at myfiosgateway.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get back to working on my sales software with SquareUp.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be an issue with my router settings, or do I need to upgrade something? Do you have any tips on optimizing my connection for stable remote work?

Since you are using Verizon Fios for ISP, try contacting them to see if they can help you.  The Verizon Fios Router I am not sure of if that is wired to the internet through Fiber or if it connects wirerlessly to their cell towers.  Depending on weather conditions if connected to cell towers this could be an issue.  The issue is people say their Wifi drops when its actually their ISP (Verzon in your case) disconnecting or loosing connection.  You need to figure out if the problem is with your ISP or with your WiFi.  Bad weather in my area effects my cable modem to my ISP, but my WIFI shows full bars.  If your WiFi shows full bars but no internet connection then its your ISP most likely.  The only other thing it could be would be a setting but then it should not connect and disconnect.  If a Setting, then your connection its usually either good or no internet.  Do you have multiple ports for an ethernet cable on your Verizon Modem/Router?   Try running a Ethernet cable from Router to Computer.  Then see if the internet drops.  If it still drops call Verizon their internet is the issue.  If it does not drop then it might be time to add a better WiFi Router to your homes network.

Depending on the size of your house you could upgrade to WiFi extenders (repeaters).  These can connect to your exsisting WiFi network and then rebroadcasts a signal to other devices.  You could also look into a Mesh network for your house if its a larger home.

Absolutely! I highly recommend upgrading to the latest Verizon router—it made a huge difference in my speed and reliability. I’ve been through this process, and I know how frustrating it can be. If you're unable to access myfiosgateway.com, try using the router’s IP address 192. something, if found at https://fiosgateway.org/. That worked for me! helped me resolve the myfiosgateway.com not working issue. But honestly, switching to a newer model might be the best move for overall performance.
