Setting up new register

Hi trying to apply my existing settings to my new register but it is just hanging for the best part of two hours. I have gone back in and out a couple of times, but still hasn’t worked

Hi @AH10, thanks for reaching out to us!

If you're still stuck on the same screen, try restarting your Square Register. Once it powers back on, sign in again using your device code or account details and see if that helps you move forward.

Follow the below steps to restart your Square Register:

1. Press and hold the power button and release as soon as you see the Restart option.
2. Tap Restart. If you hold the power button down too long and see a black screen with a count-down timer, immediately release the power button before the timer goes to 0. If you don’t, this will Factory Reset instead of restarting it.


After the restart, check to ensure the software is up to date:

1. Tap ≡ More > Settings > Hardware > General.
2. Tap About under Square Register.
3. Tap Check for update.

Hopefully, this helps get you past the hanging screen. If the issue persists, please let us know and include as much detail as possible about the steps you're taking before the screen gets stuck, as that’ll help us troubleshoot further.
