Options to remove or change Ticket Name displayed to Customer on POS check-out confirmation screen

With the latest check-out confirmation screen update in the POS, after the customer selects their tip & receipt options, they see a screen that says something like "Order for <<TICKET NAME>> Complete". Is it possible to disable this message? Sometimes we don't need the customer to see what we named their ticket (if we don't know their name we might use descriptors instead). Or at least we've found that the Ticket Name it displays is what it was originally entered, even if we changed it to something else. So if we used a quick placeholder name to open the ticket and then changed the ticket name to their correct name afterwards, it still shows the original placeholder name. This can cause confusion or concern for the customers when they don't see their correct name there. Please advise how to fix this.

I can see how this change can affect your use of the Ticket Name. At this time, the only alternative would be to switch from Customer Names to Ticket Number auto assigning. 

 

If you're interested in taking this route here are the steps: 

From the Square POS app with retail mode enabled or the Square Retail POS app:

 

  1. Sign in to your Square Retail POS app and tap ≡ More > Settings > Orders.
    a. Tap Quick actions and toggle on this feature.
    b. Tap Order notifications and toggle the relevant settings.
  2. Go back to Settings and tap Checkout > Order tickets to choose either to Auto-assign ticket numbers or Enter custom number or name.

 

Otherwise, this is considered a feature request. I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers with similar interest in your request. 

 

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).

Using a numbering system is not an option for us because we're a counter service bar and there's no way we can remember which customer is what number. I've added a feature request to allow you to change/disable the confirmation message, but it sure seems more like a weird bug that, by default the original ticket name is used on that screen instead of the current ticket name. I can't see any logical reason why the system would save & use that original ticket name instead of using the latest name on the tab.

I'd also like to add removing the ticket name from the receipt that prints as well.
