Square takes security and privacy very seriously. All sensitive data is handled using industry-standard encryption, and payment card data is encrypted immediately upon swipe/dip/tap. If there is a breach of information, Square holds primary responsibility for protecting seller information under various regulations (such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
