Google Local Listings / Pointy Integration

Having trouble with a few things re: Square Local Listings vs. Google's Pointy Integration

 

Local Listings - after a nightmarish few months of trying to get a hold of someone at Google, finally got verification to go ahead with Local Listing integration. Set up the Merchant Account, but had an additional feed in there already (Pointy Integration). Trying to deduce what's better going forward, or if I can have both working simultaneously. 

 

Local Listings started to work after I toggled "on" on each individual product page under channel listings. The inventory is populating to the Google feed through Content API, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason on what gets approved/disapproved. I figured once I had imagery for each item in a variation and filled out additional info (age, gender, brand) etc. things would go smoothly. Everything is matching up from inventory to the feed (most importantly, GTIN), but it seems like products are being chosen at random to be approved even if all the same steps are taken. 

 

In Merchant Center, when you click on items that need to be fixed, it just give an arbitrary "missing inventory data" - when I go to fix it, nothing happens. 

 

Local Listings - this one should be the easiest but seems like the biggest pain. Initially it shows products migrating using GTIN...which is great, until you realize that nothing is approved because it's not bringing over price or product description. Imagery is pulled from the web using GTIN, but when you go to click on edit price or description, it takes you back to the same page. 

 

Anyone have any insight? I feel like I can't be the only one having this issue.

@Boardroom I understand your frustration with the quirks of what gets approved and what doesn't. I have experience with this with Facebook/Meta especially and it's a nightmare. 

 

It sounds like some of the data just isn't syncing right and might need to be updated in the Online Sales Channels area instead of the Item Library. 

 

Could you perhaps share a video or screenshots of what you're experiencing?
