Hello @JustFoiling thanks for your post, and welcome to the Square Community...we're so glad you're here! Feel free to drop your website or business social media links so we can see what you make. Also consider joining the Artists and Maker seller specific group.

Check out this page: https://squareup.com/us/en

and click on Get Started. It's really easy to get started with Square. You'll fill out some details of you/your business if you have specific info regarding that. Then it's just a matter of downloading their App to use when you sell at a Craft Show.

There are multiple ways to take a payment, including a swipe reader, or a tap to pay credit card (chip cards) and smart phone reader. Square is great because it allows you to grow your business, and as you expand with your success, you can branch out into using other Square services and hardware solutions. You can track inventories, build and sell your products on a website, and more!

Hi @JustFoiling, Glad to have you here! The community is super helpful for any questions you have once you get going. And on that note, to get started is super easy! All you need to have to sign up is a good attitude, determination, a smile, an ID, and some personal info. You are about to jump into an awesome new world! Follow the link that @HC_Charlie shared and click get started. Once you have an account, you can start taking payments right away. If someone has a card with the tap-to-pay feature you can take it right on your phone (older phones I believe cannot), you can manually enter card information, and we use it to track all of our cash sales as well.

once you get set up I recommend you get the square reader for about $50. you do not need this, but It allows you to take practically any type of payment easily. I recommend having a good cell connection or Wi-Fi to process card transactions quickly. Most craft fairs will be in a location with WiFi. Feel free to ask and you can also search within this community to see if it has been asked prior and hopefully get you a faster answer. Happy selling and welcome!

Thank you for reaching back out, @JustFoiling. Sorry to hear this! Just to confirm, do you have the Square Reader with the Lightning connector?

Here are the three different types of Square Readers with different connectors:

Let me know which one you have and I can take another look for you.
