Yesterday I had every business owners nightmare come true, my square reader didnt charge and so I was left at a busy market with no EFT. Another stallholder suggested setting up the tap to pay on my phone. And I have it enabled, and the NFC settings turned on and Developer Options turned off but it still wont work.
In the app it just says Tap to Pay Failed to Connect to Square.
I dont know what else to do and would love to have a plan B in case this ever happens again.

I'm sorry to hear you've had trouble with both your reader and Tap to Pay on the same day!
Here's what we recommend to do when you're seeing the ‘Reader Failed to Connect, Please check your network connection’ error message.
1. Force quit the Square app (swipe up on your screen and close the app).
2. Restart your Android device.

I read elsewhere that Tap to Pay does not work if you have Developer Options enabled. Turn them off and restart the app - that worked for me.

Awesome. You were correct. I think Developer Options is disabled by default but I can't remember why I enabled it. Anyways, I have the Square reader but wanted to use my phone as a backup, just in case. Thank you!!!
