Enhancing Product Search: Introducing Keywords for POS Items

Enhancing Product Search: Introducing Keywords for POS Items

It would be helpful for a lot of people to have access to a section on our POS items where you can type in keywords. We make candles and many other things that have scent, and we don't have the actual names of our candles in the item title due to SEO and the fact that most people are looking for scents on our website, not the name. But we don't usually look up the scent of our products, we look up the name. The point is, I believe it would benefit a lot of people to have a keyword option for items, where you can type in the keyword you want for that product, and when you go to the search bar to search for it, then you can find that product with your keyword, and not just the title.

Hey @IpomoeaOrganics,

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

We understand the importance of easy product searches, especially for businesses like yours. I've updated it to the "Open" status. This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Open for Votes" status and bring them to product teams.

To other sellers that see this feature, please “like” the post and reply with a use case that your business would have. This will help to signal that this feature request is even more important to address.

Thank you for your patience.

If I am understanding the question or request correctly, I too would like a way to attach keywords to items so that they show up in a search.  Right now I can only get the item name, category, and description text to show up, none of which I want to clutter up with a bunch of keywords; however, such keywords would be quite helpful to a customer looking for something that is not necessarily in the name or description.

Count us in for this much needed feature. Adding organic or biodynamic to the item description makes it cumbersome. Our item names are pretty long as it is.

You have replied with YESTERDAY on several threads. What does that mean?
