Add a training or test mode

Please add a training mode so that employees can walk through the entire payment process while in training.

Thank you for your suggestion! Adding a training or test mode is indeed a valuable idea. It would provide employees with a hands-on experience to familiarize themselves with the payment process before handling real transactions. Being able to play around with the system without "messing" things up would be nice. 

Having visual guidance training new employees what to click and how to access certain features would be amazing. 

This would be a huge help to our business.  It would allow us to better train our employees as well as test out changes made it items as well as beta testing features.

This is very needed. I want to make sure discounts work properly and for training staff.  

Please add a Training Mode so we can train new employees more efficiently, it would be greatly appreciated!    Also, can you make the message area larger for Invoices?  90% of our customer information is in this area for our deliveries.  It is really narrow when you first create an invoice and is not user friendly to co-workers here.   You can open it up but not enough to make a big difference with all our info that we need in the Message area.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness and consideration.        

I have been reading about folks asking for a training mode for Square since at least 2017 on these threads... yet, there is no sign of a training mode yet in 2025.

 

We use to use SwipeSimple which had a demo mode so we could train and test to our hearts content. It was so useful to train new employees to use the system well and get very comfortable with it.

 

Square absolutely needs a training mode or demo mode so that users can become proficient on using the system before being thrown into a busy production environment.

It would allow us to not only train employees better, but to walk through changes we've made to understand how they function better. We are working on the ingredients and recipes and it would be awesome to see how all that functions with items being sold out without running transactions and ruining the reports. 

We currently have this in our software now and this is a HUGE benefit not only to training but in testing out any sort of NEW way to completing a transaction or documenting a sale that needs some sort of special attention.

 

We are testing square now and this may be one of the deciding factors.

Adding an additional comment here.  Not to echo everyone else in this thread, but a sandbox/testing mode for all of Square really should be considered.   It's such an important feature that it should be available from the start..  From a new business starting out to a seasoned business who are making sure things arent broken.  

 

We shouldn't have to charge our own card, (which is against the TOS) or someone we know to test to make sure things are working properly s intended.
