I liked the older version of how we were able to print orders.  It was more compact but still had the important information that made it easier to pull and fulfill orders. I feel like the new version prints too much information and takes up the whole first page. 

 

Is there a way to print just the fields you want to see?

 

It would also be great to select all the ones you want to print at one time or a way to mark that you have looked at or printed a new order.  I know on the older version we had the option to set up automatic printing of new orders, but I could never get it to work.  That would be a great option to have.

We need to be able to print and invoice from the orders or shipment section, which shows the invoice in a nicely formatted way with the important details like the selected shipping, etc. Its a basic requirement for an online business to function.

 

We sell online and used to print the orders from the dashboard in Square Online which was great. Since the transition we only have the opportunity to print the orders from the all orders section. There is currently a print button feature there that prints a very poorly formatted, unprofessional looking invoice showing screen button links, a very spread out format such that you only get one or two order items on the page before you are printing page two (wasteful). 

 

Also on printing this invoice it used to show the shipping method ie express or standard etc. Now it has lost the shipping method, so we now print a poorly formatted invoice, which does not give a shipping method, which then requires us to go to the shipments section to figure out the chosen shipping method. Very cumbersome, time consuming and a route for error

 

Neither the all orders or shipment section allow for invoice/order printing, only the poorly formatted invoice mentioned above and a packing slip, useful for some businesses but not all.

We couldn't agree more. Our company is hoping the new template is temporary, my team is absolutely baffled by the new layout and it makes things harder to comprehend and the layout is awful.

Many thanks for sorting out the shipping method visibility, much appreciate and very helpful. I'm assuming you have dived in and fixed this as the method is now showing.

 

Is a printable, nicely formatted invoice accessed from the order and or shipment section on the horizon....pretty please 😁🙏

Yes,  I couldn't agree more.  When printing the order forms you should be able to modify or select what you want to see.  Similar to the receipts, but yet different based on what information you need.  I hope this gets updated.

Hey everyone! Thanks for writing in and contributing this idea for Orders. I could see how helpful it would be to have a more customizable interface where you could choose what prints. Thank you, @kristen for keeping this open! We really appreciate the Ideate feature and your ability to see what the needs are in the community. The ability to customize the printout is an absolute necessity and I guarantee this is something every business would love to have. Please, if possible, make this happen!

Same here! We do online orders and in person pick ups. Not only is it clunk and wasteful to have 3/4 of the first page of the receipt covered in unnecessary info about the store ID and what not, but it also lists far more customer detail than we'd prefer to be visible in our pick up area.

Trying to even do a search for help with this feature is crazy!  It isn't actually called anything.  When we have a guest place an order, we click that order and print a copy.  I would call this the "order ticket".  Our order ticket includes:  Name, pickup details, Name again, Name again, when they ordered, how they ordered, which channel (we have 2), location (we have 2) and their pickup time AGAIN.  Most ALL of this information is not relevant and redundant.  We would love to be able to exclude most of this, but we would love the option of adding information such as a custom field from the guest account where they have noted allergies or such, so that it prints prominently with the order ticket.  We also would love the option to exclude prices on this printout.  Not only would being able to customize this print out make the ticket look better (we give this to the guest with their meals), but it would also be more eco friendly and easier to use.

Completely agree on the new layout being much more clunkier than Squares previous design. 

For example, where are the settings for automatic printing? I have a new handheld that sends orders to the POS and KDS, but the printer won’t automatically print… (I checked printer settings and profiles, but there are NO automatic printing settings nor any easy way to find help). Please help

@Jaybird64 on your app it is under settings > hardware > printers.  On your dashboard it is settings > device management and then under profiles you manage your printers and set up the automatic printing there.  Hopefully that helps.

 

I have noticed my layout on printing orders has changed a little.  It is no longer showing the SKU; which I would prefer.  Maybe they are working on a few things.  It would be nice though to have the option to set it up to show what we would like to have printed.
