What platform do you all use for eCommerce?

Hi All,

I wanted to ask you all about the platform you all use for e-commerce and/or online orders?

I have a Wix site, and I have a link on my site to the square sites for online orders for my coffee shop.

Here Wix site current

https://www.cafetal.coffee/

There is a link on this site to the square sites under Pick-up-order

I believe square acquired Weebly which had a powerful website builder, but I notice that the builder available from the square dashboard is limited.

I'd love to hear all your approaches, learnings, and ideas.

Cheers

I really like your website, especially the About Us and pictures. I think you will really like Square Online (Weebly). You can recreate everything you have now using Square Online, so you only use one platform.

@AdamB  does great Featured Square Online Sites posts that I have learned a lot from. You can see more at the bottom under Related Threads.

Let me know if you have any questions, I would love to help!

We use Weebly through square. We have 1000s of products (retail store) so it works best for us! We have no complaints.

I currently use weebly but exploring the option of WP Easy cart integration with Square and Wordpress.   I've had a blog on Wordpress for as long as I've been in business and it gains much more traffic than the Weebly site does.  I'd like to use that to make more sales.

We started exclusively on WP, both store and e-commerce. Switched to Square retail and integrated with WP API. Stock issues abound, never had much luck keeping inventory correct.

Last year we switched to Weebly. No more inventory issues, but discovered another issue that Square doesn't seem interested in developing. Sales tax includes state and local taxes. Square does good charging the appropriate rate, example 6% in county A and 7% in county B, but it does not break down the tax in reporting. I have to manually calculate taxes for every online transaction so I can pay sales tax every month. Very tedious!

Another item that is frustrating is odd behaviors when refunding orders or single items in order. At times,  I have to process refunds in PayPal or manipulate the system in a different section. Refunds are not straightforward.

I use square online/Weebly and convert all of my clients from Wix over to square online. It may seem limited but you can create some create websites with Square.

Here are some of my client websites built on the square online platform: https://www.richardmerrillconsulting.com/digital-solutions-for-spa-professionals

After reviewing your current website you could very easily replicate everything on your current website into the square online platform and get rid of wix. Which would also help to streamline your reporting, management and operations.

We use Square for any ordering for on-site consumption or pickup and an industry specific product called VinoShipper for any product that is shipped out.

Our current site is wordpress based and we use woocommerce. As much as I'd like the tight integration of square online, it's not flexible enough for our needs.

I'm in the process of rebuilding the site so have not focused on tighter integration, but once I have it all rebuilt I will look at hopefully getting square and woocommerce to play together a little nicer.

I use the square online platform.  I love it because it syncs; it's like your customer is purchasing in the store.  Square continually adds features that make it much better, such as the beta customer accounts, loyalty rewards, etc.  I highly recommend the square online platform

does anyone use shopify?

I have Shopify for my website but I'm moving to Squarespace simply because the apps I use on Shopify is costing me a lot more and Squarespace has the same apps built into their monthly payment. For my vendor shows, with Square as one of their payment processors, I feel that Squarespace is the better choice for me. I also have an Etsy store and the connection to import my items to Squarespace was super easy!

Being thinking the same for my business.

Btw, how did you integrate the Square payment with your Shopify store?

I couldn't... another reason why I'm moving to Squarespace. With me having an Etsy store & with Etsy you can integrate with Square, I have an app from Shopify that integrates with my Etsy store. So when ppl make purchases in person and I use Square to process the transaction, Square automatically updates my Etsy and Shopify stores. So to answer your question, I can't integrate Square with Shopify... 2 different platforms.

I was thinking of doing something like this as well...we would use a Squarespace main site and then link it to Square for ordering online like you did. How has your experience with this and was there a specific reason you did this? Thank you...site looks great by the way!
