Transferring Domain

We initially set up website through web.com and pay for domain/hosting through them. I attempted to transfer the domain but was unable to do say, per support person - confirmed that web.com is a reseller, you can have a Godaddy, Wix, Squarespace, or Weebly domain host purchased from them. Your domain is owned by register.com and since we are also owned by register.com, we can't accept the domain transfer.

There needs to be a way to transfer my services over to square because I don't need the other services through web.com anymore and dont want to have to pay for website features on both. 

I got an auth code from web.com but was still told that I couldn't do this
