Splitting Tips between Staff and Delivery Couriers for Square Online Orders

As you know currently 100% of tips go to Doordash staff for on-demand delivery of Square Online orders.  We NEED a way to split tips 50/50 with our staff.  This is an issue that was brought up many times in the Square Discussion boards back in 2020 when this feature was first rolled out, but I still don't see a way to enable it on the back end.
 
Tipping is critical to the livelihood of our staff.  We need this capability.  Has any progress been made on this, or is this in the works?

I do not see any plans to change this on the road map, but I encourage you to tag Sellers who are also looking for this (or share direct link to this post) so they can provide their thoughts as well! The more sellers that chime in to the request, the more likely it is to catch our product team's eye.

@Square I'd like to add my support for this request - splitting tips for the restaurant vs. courier. Staff pooled tips are essential for our employee retention.

I would also need this change!

@Square I'd like to reiterated the urgent need to delineate tips for the restaurant (staff) vs. courier.

 

Our staff earns a tip pool which is essential for their hard work preparing delivery orders.

 

This week, we had a large delivery order and 100% of the $30.00 tip went to the delivery driver.

 

Can we please break out the "tip" vs. "driver tip" please?

 

Most of our regulars think the tips are going to our staff which is not the case. Thank you!

CA is making a major change, we will not be able to add any service changes to our system. So this change of splitting tips is ESSENTIAL.

This sounds pretty urgent and seems like a no-brainer that it's needed. I would like to add my support for requesting this feature. 

This needs to be changed! I've had tips over $100 go to the delivery driver instead of our staff that made all the food! Totally unfair. Needs to be an option to tip the store separately from the driver.

@Square can you please acknowledge the need to split these tips for delivery/courier vs. store.

 

This is critical for small businesses struggling to attract and retain talent. We pay a living wage but the tip pool makes their hard work in this industry sustainable. 

@Square please make it an option to adjust the percentage of the tips that go to delivery drivers vs staff. We've had instances where staff have had to come in early to prepare a large breakfast catering order, only to find out that the $200 tip all goes to the delivery driver who drove the order 8 miles.
