Multiple online menus

Is there any way to have different online menus? For example, I have a catering/bulk menu in addition to my normal lunch menu and I want them to be separate.

@LA-BBQ You can categorize your online menus to have a separate category for catering.  You could also in theory set up a second location and a site just for catering if that would work better.

Looking for the best way to set up breakfast lunch dinner menus only for easier ordering. I believe the categories would help, but will this also change my in-store pos layout? Thanks in advance

Hello @omtradelaw

Oh! This is an interesting question.

Before, categories wouldn't sync between Square and Square Online, so creating categories for your Online store, wouldn't affect your POS layout at all.

As of December 11, 2023, new sellers have a cohesive experience but are still able to choose which categories they want to show on their Online store.

Now, this change was made available to new sellers first and we do not have a set date for when it will be launching for the rest of our sellers.

So -technically- you should still be able to create categories online that won't affect your in-store POS. But given that you are a Beta member, I can't tell for exactly how long this will continue to work in the same way.

In my personal experience, creating categories doesn't change my layout much (in the POS app), as they are only added at the top, but I can still see my item list right below. But I have very few items, so your experience might be different.

You still have another option. You can create pages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Once you have created the page, add a Featured items section and select the items that belong to that menu.

This would be a little more time-consuming should you ever need to make changes to your menus, but if keeping your POS layout the same is the priority, it's the best option I can think of.

Let me know what you decide and how it goes.

Thank you
