Make Page Navigate Back to Prior Position when clicking Back

When navigating specific items on the Square page - if you drill down to an item and if the customer looks at the item but decides to "go back" to the previosu page by hitting the back button it navigates all the way back to the top of the prior page ---  is there a way to force "back" to go back to the place where the user left off in the prior page of shopping.

 

My wife made the comment - "I would not shop on on own page" because it goes "all the way back"

Perhaps providing a URL to your site would helpful - although the Public Community is not Tech Support, letting others take a look at your site may spark a suggestion or two.

Thanks for the link ....

 

I tested your site using Firefox, Chrome & Edge - all with the same results.

 

I selected "Womens Clothing" from the main page top menu.

Then "Dresses"

Then "Black Knit Dress"

Made a selection and added it to the Cart.

Then Clicked the Browser Back Button.

Was taken back to "Dresses"

 

Seems to work as I expected - so I'm not sure or understanding where you think the Browser Back Button should be going to.   Hopefully some other people here can give it a try and tell you what they think.

I am experiencing this issue too, and have found that another local retailer who uses Squareup is as well. On October 22, 2023 I posted this comment on The Seller Community:

 

Browsing Online Store and Back Button

 

When I browse my online store I click on an item and then use the back button to return to the item list and I get sent way back up to the top instead of staying on the row I was in.

 

It did not used to do this. It just started recently. I find it very annoying and disruptive when I’m doing a methodical search on my site and other sites that I visit.”

 

I have contacted Square Support by email and phone. I hope this issue is resolved soon.
