Hi!
I've had my square online website up for a few months now. I've seen my visitor counts grow from 0 to about 30 people per day. However, I haven't landed a single sale. Any suggestions on how to convert those visitors to sales?? I'm open to any ideas and/or critiques of my website.
Thanks!
Elise
I don't really see a 'Call to Action' that would make anyone choose your store. After some digging, I found more information in your 'About' section than I did when I got to your website. Shoppers don't want to have to search; they want the work done for them.
I think your business model is great! In fact, it reminds me of the bookstore that Meg Ryan had in You've Got Mail, trying to have a stake next to big box stores like Fox Books (or Amazon in a present-day example).
Have something on your landing page that gets people to want to stay. Mention your dedication to a niche market; promote the giving back to the community; set yourself apart so there's no option in people's heads to go elsewhere. Right now, I think your page looks a little sterile. As a mom of two littles, I have to be honest: this wouldn't really grab their attention or mine to come shop with you.
You could show some of the activities you do in the store; play up the ease of purchasing online; make the images SLIGHTLY more kid friendly without going too juvenile.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for taking the time to go through my website!
Those are excellent suggestions. I had a feeling the landing page was a little blah. This gives me some good ideas to revamp it.
Thank you!!
Hi Elise
That's great improvement. Keep going! It takes time to hit your target audience and get them to purchase. You have to build trust and relationships before people purchase. I would suggest retargeting those visitors with some social media ads so you can build that relationship and trust.
I would change your homepage image to something that really shows your brand and is a little more personal. Maybe a photo of a book you sell being red to a kid for example. Or a video without sound (though this could slow down loading time).
Thank you! Those are great suggestions. I haven't really touched the landing page since launching it -- definitely time to revisit it!
