Instagram Shop: Variations not showing up

None of our product variations are showing up in our Instagram shop. All other products from the catalog are showing just fine. Our variations are set up in Square inventory and displaying fine on our Weebly site. Does anyone know how to fix this for the Instagram shop?

@MayaPThank you. For example, If you go into our @detmodsupply instagram shop and look at the wooden mallets, you'll notice there are various sizes, several pictures, but only one cost associated to it. Any guidance is appreciated! Thank you

Hey @detmodsupply – I appreciate your patience. When I look up wooden mallets on your Instagram and select different variations, I notice that the prices vary.

Thanks @MayaP I figured out how to update the mallets using the size field. Now the only thing is figuring out how to add the different scents for candles. In square it looks like I can add a custom attribute and title it 'scents' but it doesn't seem to be pulled into the instagram shop. I've looked at other shops for candles and it would appear that there may not be a way to do this as I found that those shops listed the candles separate items. Unfortunately, that's not the way we set up variations in square for our candles. If you have any other thoughts around pulling in a custom attribute like 'scent', I would appreciate hearing them! Thanks.

I’m looking at the Detroit Rose Candle Collection, and I see the scent options are available. It appears they are set up as variations rather than separate items. If this isn't how you'd like your item to display, please reply with more details on your desired setup. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply, @detmodsupply.

Thanks @MayaP I was actually referring to the Instagram shop. We have the candles set up as variations in the square system, but they don't transfer to the instagram shop. I went into square and added a custom attribute called 'scents' but the instagram shop is still not pulling it in like it's doing for the color or size attributes.

The screenshot I shared is from your site via Instagram. I followed the same steps—going to your IG, clicking on the shop, which directs to your site, then navigating through the menu: Homegoods > Home Scents > Select Lineage Candle, I see the variation options: Appalachian Woodsmoke, Eucalyptus & Birch, Wildwood, and Fraser Fir.

Is there a specific candle you’d like me to take a closer look at? Happy to dig into this further! @detmodsupply

@MayaPThanks for following up. I've been trying to figure out how you're seeing that from the Instagram shop. When I go to the 'shop' button, I see a variety of products listed, I don't see the modern supply website interface, I only see the instagram shop interface. I had an employee click on the shop button on her phone and she receives two links that pop up both taking her to the modern supply site interface. I'm not sure why my actual instagram shop isn't showing to anyone outside of admin privileges. Thank you so much for all of the help you've given.

@MayaPOkay - if you wouldn't mind trying it again. I hadn't quite hooked it up completely, so you weren't getting the actual instagram shop. Now that's it hooked up, I'm just wondering how to get custom attributes added, like 'scent' to that shop. I think that's an instagram thing and not a square thing, because I'm able to add custom attributes in square!

I tried again, and when I go to IG, I see two options, but clicking either takes me to the same site. I clicked the Lineage Candle again and still see the same options above. Can you show me what you see on your end? Maybe try from a different device to see if that helps?

@MayaP  Yes, I'm running 18.3.1. It's interesting that you're still seeing only those two links. I thought I had fixed it since the second screenshot above came from my friend when she clicks on the shop button. When she does a search for the Detroit Rose candle, she only gets singular candles and not what you're seeing from my website.

Since the screenshot is from your friend's device, can you confirm the device model and whether it’s up to date? Also, have you or your friend experienced the same discrepancy on a different device?
