I set up two but same location......just a different name. Can I delete the one that I have not linked to my bank account? If so, how?

This information is still accurate. While you can deactivate a location, it is not possible to completely delete a location.
In the meantime, you can deactivate an existing location:
You can reactivate a deactivated location at any time.

While you can deactivate a location, it is not possible to completely delete a location. I understand why this would be a useful feature for your business. I’ll be glad to communicate your feedback to our product team.
In the meantime, you can deactivate an existing location:
1. Visit Locations > Click the location you wish to deactivate
2. Click Deactivate > Deactivate this Location.
Please note that both active and deactivated locations count toward the total number of locations associated with your account. You can reactivate a deactivated location at any time.
Ok this is getting ridiculous - a deletion feature has been requested on the US boards since 2016 and nothing has been done. Deactivating doesnt work as it still conflicts with invoicing, subscriptions etc. Have been dealing with the Square Team and the advice was just to recreate and relink the subscriptions & items to all of my websites, social media etc instead of trying to delete the location that is causing the glitch. Time to get this done!

Hi Folks - I foolishly created a duplicate "location" for my business, and now need to delete it, not deactivate it. Square Appointments Plus, which is the service I am trying to set up, sees both locations, and wants to charge me for both, when in reality, I only have one. How do I DELETE the second location?
Also, please forgive me if this is a duplicate post - I am not seeing my original anywhere.

Hey there @GarryWakely. Deactivation is the only option. Currently, Square does not allow for total deletion of locations for any reason. That being said, deactivation should cause subscriptions to ignore deactivated locations. At least, it always has for me when I created test locations that I have since deactivated. So, if it is not doing this after you deactivate the location, your only option is to contact Square Support so they can assist you.

Why is deleting a location not an option? This needs to be possible as accidentally-created duplicate locations cause confusion on the dashboard.
At one point I had (2) other locations, which have since closed. I have deactivated them, but I would like to delete them altogether. How do I do this?

So I guess my overall question is this- I am down to one location now. I want to do Square Retail but since I only have one location now and it will show multiple locations- will I be charged for having multiple locations or only the active location?

@Goldneye is correct, while you can deactivate a location, it is not possible to completely delete a location.
A Square for Retail Plus subscription is charged per active location. If you only have one active location, you will only be charged for that location.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but the Square intro made me create a brand new location in order to clear it after I had already set one up. Now I'm finding out that I'm stuck with that software enforced 'mistake' forever?

I had 2 locations and closed 1. I deactivated that location. I have the widget on my website for scheduling and the first one that shows up is the deactivated one so it says the location is no longer active. The second location which is active is underneath it. People need to scroll down to see it, but they do not always do it so they think they cannot book. Can you help me please! Can we please delete the location? Or can we move the deactivated one to the bottom so it is not distracting? Thank you.

Thank you for the info. I still wish I could just delete them, but I guess Square does not have that option. Hopefully one day the option to delete will be available.
Hello @Christina61612! Thanks for reaching out. You are correct right now you can only deactivate the location but there is no option to completely delete it. I know this isn't ideal at all but hopefully, down the pipeline for Square, this will be available.
I am wanting to also delete old locations and I have seen this issue being brought up for the past 5 years in posts and comments. Is this option ever going to be added? It should have been added years ago!
