Both Square accounts are me. The only way I can get rid of my abusive ex’s name on my account is to create a new one since Square can’t update my legal name.

Square currently does not allow sellers to change their Account Owner’s name. So sorry about that, as I can imagine it's difficult having to view your former last name within your Square account. Fortunately, it's not customer facing.
We are working on a solution and we are regularly make improvements to our products. Please keep an eye out in the Seller Community for an update on an account owner name change feature.
In the meantime, you can create a new Square account as an alternative.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way to transfer my website that's been built on my old account to my new account? I really don't want to have to rebuild the whole thing.

It actually is customer facing on digital receipts... if SQ won't allow an update can you enhance the solution to remove owner name from digital receipt or instruct how to do so? thank you

Any edits that need to be made on a receipt can be found here under Account & Settings > Business > Receipt.
When it comes to the name on the receipt your customers are seeing, are you referring to your business name or your personal name? Receipts will also pull detail from the basic information section of your Square Online Dashboard found here.

Is this still a thing? I have an account with 3 websites. One is for a short term rental I sold and I need to transfer only ONE of the websites. How do I do this? I made all of these under Weebly and transferring was easy.

Welcome to the seller community! We'd be happy to guide you in the right direction. If you would like to change ownership of the entire account you can do it by changing the email on file, however, if you would like to just move one website, you will need to contact our Customer Support Team directly. They will be your best resource.

This is not solved. This issue has been reported here for years by NUMEROUS account holders. If I can change the name on my security card, bank accounts, etc. I should be able to change my name on a private company's account.
I agree and am currently incredibly frustrated with Square for the same reason, also have an abusive ex-spouse and its triggering to have to see his last name attached to mine, which it has not been legally for nearly 6 years now. Cant understand why we cant show proof of a name change and have it changed with Square.
