Gift Registry on POS

It would be great to create a gift registry in the POS with square. That would be a game changer for retail stores. I would like to add a page next to my “favorites” called "Gift Registry" then able to add tiles with customer’s names so I can add their gift registry to their tile. It would be nice to arrange the tiles by alphabetical order so you can easily find a name.

When someone walks into my store they can ask for someones gift registry - I can tap on the tile and their gift registry pulls up and they can shop for that person. It would be great for Father's Day, Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas etc...

I think this would be an amazing feature to have, and would really elevate the retail experience. 

This is not something that Square plans on implementing right now. To other sellers that see this feature, please leave a like and reply with a use case that your business would have. This will help to signal that this feature request is even more important to address.

Are there any plans to add a gift registry options to the e-commerce site that would include the ability for customers to create a list as well as customers to shop?   I saw threads from a year or two (or more) but couldn't find any updated plans.  

Or is there an app that will integrate a registry?

@kjc2 Unfortunately, I can’t give you any better answer than what you’ve already read.  There have been no announcements about this feature being available yet.

To your second question, I did some searches in the Square App Marketplace, and came up dry as far as just a single-purpose gift registry.  However, I did determine that WooCommerce (for one) integrates with Square through the App Marketplace, and it has a gift registry plugin.  You’d have to set up an account, link it to your Square Item Library, but it seems like it could add the functionality that you are looking for.

Search for WooCommerce in the Square App Marketplace.  You’ll can learn more about WooMarketplace Gitf Registry Plugin here, as well as find other information about their services in general.  I hope that works for you.  

And, if you do decide to do this and it works out, please come back here and let us know.  I’d love to go back to those other threads and suggest it to others who really want this functionality. Since I am not a retail shop, trying to mock this up from my account would be a nightmare.  I’d love to know if it really works, though I’m pretty confident it will.  If it does, you would become a great resource for referrals from people who find themselves in the same boat!  So, I hope it works!

Having an integrated Gift Registry at our brick and mortar would be so helpful for our established business that has multiple $$$$ registries per year. 

I'm concerned that saved tickets would disappear and the invoice function doesn't work exactly as we need in order to track the registry during a sale. It will cost me thousands extra to bring in an outside provider like myregistry. It seems like there's more than enough threads of people asking for this function - it goes beyond weddings. People ask to save items for their spouses and family for holidays and birthdays all the time.

It could be linked to the customer profile and searchable from the register.

This should definitely be a feature! I have several customers who ask to create or shop from a wishlist. We have a paper copy we use that does not go over well. Several husbands specifically have asked for an online feature that would allow them to shop from their device. Please look into making this an option.

We would also love a gift registry option, ideally that can be used both instore and online - linking into the group gift voucher option in some way would be extra great. 

We are a baby store and do things like consultations for different slings and carriers, or cloth nappies, but people often don’t purchase immediately as they want to see what they get for baby showers/gifts after birth. 

It would be great to be able to send them away with a link/QR code to give to friends and family so they can buy the things they’ve looked at directly from us and keep that relationship
