Feature Request: Customizable Print Fields for Order Fulfillment

I would like to request a feature enhancement that allows users to customize what information prints on order tickets and receipts. Specifically, I’d like the ability to include details such as the storage location of items to streamline order fulfillment.

This functionality would significantly improve efficiency for businesses like mine, where employees fulfill orders by pulling items from various locations. By printing storage details directly on the order ticket, it would eliminate the need for additional manual steps, reduce errors, and save time during the fulfillment process.

I envision this feature as:

  • A customizable field within the item settings (e.g., “Storage Location” or “Notes”).
  • The ability to enable these fields for printing under printer settings.
  • Flexibility to include or exclude specific information based on order type (e.g., customer receipts vs. internal order tickets).

This addition would be immensely helpful for businesses managing inventory across multiple areas. Thank you for considering this request, and I look forward to hearing if this might be part of a future update!

I tried this with a Custom Field of "Location" and it did not print.  I actually had to setup a free account with Odoo to track Locations and my inventory.  Square says track your inventory, which just means the number sold and received, but not where you keep it in a Bin Location at a single location.

 

Here is what one of my Items 8 inch Aqua Tapers Looks Like in Odoo looks like and it is in 2 locations in my one building.

1 being

SHRM4/Stock/Row 8/Shelf E  - meaning Showroom 4- stock- Row 8- Shelf E   Having 10 Rooms its hard to keep track.
 
 

and the other is 

BARM2/Stock/Row 2/Column 1 - Shelf B  Meaning our Basement Room2 - Stock- Row 2 Column1 Shelf B  again we have 5 rooms in our Basement and its sometimes hard to remeber where or How many are suppose to be in Bin X or on Shelf B for example.  Something similar to the above picture would be greatful for each Square Location (site).

The issue is, if a customer comes in as if we have 50 of these 8 inch Aqua Tapers to, with Square we can say yes we have 359.  Customer but I only see 23 here.  Me : how many would you like?   Customer : a total of 50  me hang on I will have to go look Where they are to get them.   Square shows we have plenty in stock.

My Taper storage area is in the basement and has 8 rows that are 4 to 5 Columns for each row, and then each column has 5 shelves High.   This is just the refill area for the Showroom, some items are also stored in my Back Barn as we call it that is right behind the Retail location for Wholese Order Pickups or to refill the basement areas. I have tried using the Description area in Square for Storage areas but then I can not use Square for Online sales and track everything or where its located.  Who wants to read at the end of the Description BARM2/Stock/Row 2/ Column 1 - Shelf B for example as part of the Description of a Taper; when they see Description for an item Online?

 

 

 

Ugh, yeah, we are a plant nursery and use Square to sell and inventory thousands of plants in hundreds of different species and sizes. We currently have the location of each plant listed under description (which doesn't print from the online order), and have to look up each item description when we are pulling orders for customer pickup, which is a time suck. I'm sure different vendors would like to see different things on their order tickets, and it would be nice to have a way to customize that.
