Facebook/Instagram stopping catalog integration???

So I just checked my email and came across a message from "Meta" -- did I read it correctly that they are saying that starting next April they will ONLY allow checkout from their system on Instagram and Facebook, no redirects to 3rd party webpages for checkout, and that our Square catalogs will no longer be synchronized/no more tagging products and our "shop" with them closed if we don't let them handle all of the transactions? Can someone please confirm that this is the case please?

If so, how are others planning to adapt to this? Having to copy/paste links to individual items on our Square site in all of our posts won't be much fun. But I absolutely refuse to let Facebook handle my financial transactions -- they can't even get the most basic of page/profile functions to work correctly on a consistent basis so I'm sure not trusting them with my money. If it's "let us handle your money or no more shop feature" then I guess I won't have a "shop" on social media this time next year. 😞  I wasn't so sad about TikTok not integrating anymore since we set it up but really never used it, but FB and IG have been our main communication lines with non-local customers for over a decade. (Funny enough, today actually marks 11 years since we started a Facebook page to first promote on social media)

So does anyone have any ideas on time-saving ways to still sell on Facebook/Instagram if they completely take away the capability to integrate with Square?? I'm already involved in a love/hate relationship with social media (would walk away completely if I could, but that's where our customers are comfortable) so even though it's still almost a year away from happening I'm already dreading this "new and improved page experience" or whatever it is they are calling this. *insert eyeroll here*

We got the same email, fortunately we sell live on Facebook with CommentSold and they are already working on integration. If we have to we will just switch our facebook feed from Square to CommentSold.

When we had our Shopify store we had Facebook setup to take the payments, we had to make sure we had our shipping and return policy links listed and you had to set a number of days that the item would ship within. The good thing is Facebook ran all types of promotions like, free processing, free shipping…etc.
