How to add custom fields to a Square Online Basket
I am creating a Gift Card for a Photographic service. I have the item set up and ready to purchase, but I need to add two more fields that capture the recipients name and email address. I have added these fields under "profiles" in the Customer section, but they do not show up in my basket. How do I associated them with the specific product please?

Hi @pduce 👋 thanks for your post!
I have a couple of suggestions here;
When customers check out from your Square Online site, they can leave you additional notes regarding their orders. To enable this feature:
- From your Square Online Overview page, go to Settings > Checkout or Shared Settings > Checkout.
- Select Edit customer inputs.
- Under ‘Checkout fields’, tick the Allow customer to leave a note to seller option.
- Select Save when finished.
Learn more about your checkout options here - it's important to note that this isn't a mandatory field which may run the risk of customers leaving the field blank.
Another option, depending on your website display/sales work would be to add a modifier text box to each item that requires customers to input their details and make it a required field.
This box will appear on the item page itself - here's an example I did where engraving was required:
You can make the contact details a required field here but the details will only be visible to you.
Let me know if either of these options would work for you!

Thanks a lot for your answers. I have e tried option 1 and it appears to work (except the "leave note to seller" did not show up. I am ok with that if I get the email address captured correctly in the basket. Here is a copy of the fields I now have:
will these fields only be used for the money transaction and lost, or will they stay so I can pick them up? I am not looking at selling hundred of these (would be nice, but I suspect it will be small numbers so easy to track with manual intervention.

Hmm, can you share a link to your site so that I can check the add notes field @pduce - it should be visible if you enabled it!
So yes, with any order, customers will be required to input that data and then you'll be able to view it in your Orders Dashboard.
Those order details (contact info) will remain there even after the order has been completed.
