Change Master Business Name

Since joining Square, I have changed my Business Name & Bank Account. My original name and details are now defunct. However, Square continue to use it on payment receipts and invoices, although they have accepted my new business as an “additional business”. How do I contact them?

Re: Change Master Business Name

Hi @Herman123, thank you for reaching out! You should be able to update this on your Square Dashboard. There are a few places where you can do this:

1. Go to Account & Settings on your Dashboard. Under Personal Information, you'll be able to edit the Business Name.

2. Go to Business > Locations. Here, click into the location you want to edit. You'll be able to update the the Location Business Name here and this is the name that'll appear on your customer's bank statements and receipts when they make a purchase with you.

Once you've updated the information, I'd recommend signing out and signing back in to your Square Point of Sale app before the next sale to make sure the correct name is displayed.

I'm having this issue to. I've updated my business name everywhere and it shows up in my square account correctly - but in my online shop profile it still refers to me as my old business name and I can't seem to see how to change it.

Hi @frondere, thanks for sharing this! Once the business name has been updated in your Square account, it should sync automatically to your Square Online site.

Can you let me know where you are still seeing the old name coming up? I can definitely have a further look into this and see what's the best way to update the name.

UPDATE: I fixed it. Had to go into each email template manually and change the title. *Face palm!* Nevermind hahaha.

I'm having a slightly different issue. I think I've updated all the site names you've listed above, but when I send out test email notifications it still puts the business name at the top of the email in the wrong name?

Thanks!
