What is the best way to sell event tickets?

in our wine bar, we have weekly bands play on the patio. Occasionally we like to presell tickets for a discount early rate. Is there an easy way to do this in Square POS?

Square is not a one size fits all solution by itself however, you can do what you have in mind however, it can get a bit foggy for your staff when mixing ticket sales with other items.   You can create another item for just Tickets, setup a discount and use the inventory feature to track sales.   Note, using the receipt would then be the actual ticket.  A better option is using a 3rd party app that integrates with Square that is intended for events and Ticket Sales whereas all the specifics have been worked out for you.  One can also think outside the box and use an app like Jotform - you can create a specific page or form for selling your event tickets.  The page or form can a link or even embedded into a webpage.  There's tons of templates which can be customized for your needs or used as is or you can build one from scratch.  Jotform can be linked to your Square Account for processing the transaction making the process very easy.
