I've attached screenshots of the error and what's told to my clients. I do have Afterpay active and available for my store. Square has confirmed everything is set up correctly and is active in order for me to accept Afterpay.
It doesn't even give the client to try and log into Afterpay. Automatically when the invoice loads it tells them that the square site/invoice is not able to connect to Afterpay. I've been bounced back and forth from Square to Afterpay they have no form of communication between each other. Square says it's an error on Afterpay end and Afterpay says they have no way to help or access my account because it's all handled through Afterpay. It's been over a week with this same problem no solution or update.

I see you have Afterpay enabled under Payment Methods for orders purchased through your Square Online website, and orders made in person. Do you recall if you also had the option to accept Afterpay when creating the individual invoice?
Per this guide, you should be able to use Afterpay Pay in 4 for $1-$2000, and Afterpay Pay Monthly for $400-$4000
Your $1 should be valid, but I'm wondering if the mimimum has changed. I can try to check in with the team in the upcoming week for you.
