PDF Invoices embedded font error

This is a new one. As of right now, when I go to PDF or even "print and PDF" an invoice, Adobe reports an embedded font error and special characters like $ or & and even the number 8 just don't show up in the PDF for the customer or me... this has not been an issue in the past.

 

So, is there a fix for this?

The engineers have confirmed they've released a fix to solve the embedded font error on the Invoices. The issue you've experienced should now be resolved.

 

Could you please download or print an invoice in PDF on your end and let me know if you're still having difficulties?

So I just tried to download and print a pdf on my end from the chrome browser on my laptop and everything seemed to work and display fine for me. 

 

Are you trying to do this from the app or computer?  Also if a browser, what browser are you using?

I am having this same issue suddenly.  I use the download PDF option on invoices to send customers a quick/easy to view invoice before sending the payment link.   Recently, I've been getting calls from customers who say the font seems to be jumbled.   It looks perfect on my end.  I think the issue may be that square had transitioned to a new font that adobe is not reading correctly.  

Has the font been updated recently?  And can we update it from our end?

Do you have any examples you can share of the font showing jumbled? Just so I am clear, you create an invoice download it as PDF and send it to the customer, then later on send a payment link?

Yes - exactly....I'm downloading the invoice as a PDF and forwarding via email as an attachment to a customer to preview.  Just as AROSSTYLER stated above there seems to be issues with the number 8 and also some symbols.  It seems to be a problem with Adobe not recognizing the square font - has there been a change recently?  

 

How can I send you a picture or attachment of what the customer is seeing?  Everything looks fine on my end prior to emailing??

When you go to reply if you click on the little camera icon you should be able to upload an image or screenshot.

We're having the same issue with printing. Here's a screenshot of what happens when we try to open the corrupted pdf in Adobe Acrobat. There's a font error. Apparently display fonts work, but the embedded font is not working. There are no dollar signs; several numerals don't display. This is true no matter what browser or if we use laptop or phone to print.Screen Shot 2024-04-07 at 1.04.20 PM.png
