Contract vs invoice

New user here.  I've been in business over 20yrs, and am trying to get with the digital payment/contract signing age... so far I'm not sure Square is the right solution.  I've always had all the details of each item of service being purchased IN the contract, with the terms of agreement at the end where the client signs.   It appears that Square contracts wants to separate the items being purchased and their dollar amounts from the agreed upon terms of the transaction since you cannot add the items you sell to a contract - only to an invioce.  This seems absurd to me because how is the buyer going to sign a service agreement without it listing exactly what is being purchased and for how much?

We should be able to add items to a contract, or add service agreement terms to an invoice, or both.  And then it should be one document requiring the client to sign in agreement to all terms and deliverables and prices.  I find it inefficient and annoying to have to send the invoice and the terms of the agreement in two separate emails, and the only reference to the other is via link at the bottom of each.  You buy a car and one page tells you every detail you need to know, every number, every stipulation, every contract term.  I want that.

Please tell me I'm doing something wrong here... what am I missing?

Hi @Marc_Dahm,

I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋

That's right, Square Contracts and Square Invoices are two separate products. You can attach a contract to an invoice and vice versa, but the two cannot be combined into one product or document by design. By attaching an invoice to a contract, the customer and you will have both documents on file, and they're digitally linked and easily retrievable. I'd be happy to pass this feedback on to our team for consideration!
