I'm attempting to order two additional employee debit cards linked to my Square Checking account however when each of them accept the invite and proceed to enter their card mailing address the next screen says "Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer you a Square Debit Card at this time". Im confused as to why they both are getting this message. Is there a way for me as the business owner to just manually add them and create them a debit card to bypass this issue. If anyone else has encountered this problem and had is resolved please drop a comment. Thanks guys.
@GARLLP We handle it a bit differently—we’ve got a single “company” debit card that employees can check out when needed, and they turn in receipts afterward. Old-school, but it works for us.
Square might have a cap or may be requiring identity verification for each individual, especially if the person being added has past banking issues. We ran into something similar—turns out one of our folks had a closed account tied to Square from a previous job, and that blocked everything. No bueno.
Definitely worth reaching out to Support directly, but in the meantime, the shared-card-with-check-in/out log might be a good workaround.
