I run a spa and a check in option would be fabulous! our waiting area is near by the rooms but it would be nice to have the option in case whoever is at the front desk is busy with another client. I don't want to leave square but if we get busier I may have to for that particular feature.

Want to make sure I'm understanding correctly what you need.
Is it like a queue management system? In which once your client shows up to the spa for their appointment they can check in and "wait" in a virtual line kinda thing, and that way your staff knows who to call next from the waiting area?
Assuming we're on the same page and I understood what you need correctly, I agree that it would be an amazing feature to have.
I would suggest posting your feature request with as many details as you can on our Ideate boards, where our product team has direct visibility of these requests.

Not necessarily the customer checks themself in but that is also a good idea.
More so what I was saying was we have the option to confirm an appointment when the client arrives I feel we should have a “check in” option we can click on appointments that alerts the provider the client has arrived. It would also allow for turn over rates as well as give a better idea of how much time we should block between appointments.and keeping track of those clients who arrive early or late to their appointments.

Although I personally haven't heard of plans to implement something like this, my teammates are assigned to specific products and can share more insight on if this is coming to Square in the future.
