I go to client's homes to perform services. I create the invoice first so I can get a deposit, then I go onsite. I like the features of appointments for the calendar and the reminder messages.
Can't I just link the invoices I create to the appointments?
It's possible
Here's how you can streamline the process:
Create an Appointment: Schedule the appointment for the service you'll be providing at your client's home using Square's appointment feature. This allows you to block out time slots in your calendar and send automated reminder messages to your clients.
Create an Invoice: Before the appointment, create an invoice for the service and send it to your client to request a deposit. You can manually associate the invoice with the corresponding appointment by including the appointment details in the invoice description or notes.
Track Payments: Once the client pays the deposit, you can mark the invoice as paid within Square's invoicing system. This helps you keep track of payments and ensures that the client has fulfilled the deposit requirement before the appointment.
Manage Appointments: On the day of the appointment, refer to your calendar in the Square app to view the scheduled appointment details, including the service, time, and client information. This helps you stay organized and ensures that you don't miss any appointments.
Complete Service: Provide the service at your client's home as scheduled. After completing the service, you can finalize the invoice and mark it as paid if the client pays the remaining balance on-site.
While Square doesn't offer a direct integration between appointments and invoices, you can still use both features in tandem to manage your client bookings and invoicing process efficiently. Additionally, Square regularly updates its features and functionalities, so it's possible that this integration may be available in the future. Keep an eye on Square's updates and announcements for any new features that may meet your needs.

Is there any reason we can’t just raise invoices directly from the appointments app? Can it be raised as a feature request?
I thought I had it set as a payment option but it just shows as greyed out and isn’t available to select?
✅ Solution: You can now use the Appointments Invoicing app from the Square App Marketplace to automatically create Square invoices for appointments — no more manual work.
