How to setup different prices for a return customer in Square Appointments?
Hi everyone,
I am trying to set up different prices for my services in Square, but I am not sure how to display properly this information.
Basically:
- If the customer is new, I charge the full price in his first visit.
- If the customer is back, I tag them in his profile as a return customer in checkout section and charge in person a different price.
- If the same customer return and make a new appointment, I don't want to adjust this price manually every single time. I want to display to him the correct price (not the full).
I could offer two variations of my service on my website, like add a tag "New" or "Return", but I want to do this more smart and I don't want to depend my customer honesty. Manual process has always chance of failures and I don't want to count on this.
Anyone here can help me?

Hi @brinabeauty. You can create a smart client group for your regulars/returning clients and add a discount that automatically applies to all clients in that group.
This is also nice because the discount can show up during the checkout screen as a reminder that they're getting a lower rate for coming back.

Is there a way for I mark a flag in this customer in his next appointment?
I created a custom variable for mark if the customer is a returning or not, but I just know to do this manually. I'm not sure if there is a way to do this automatically.
Should be something like this:
If the count of appointment of this customer reached the number 2 Then
Flag him as a returing customer
And then activate this rule automatically to do this discount, instead of I do this manually in my POS
Please let me know for any suggestion.

The smart group would do this for you!
You can set the parameters for it to automatically add customers who have visited you more than once and be eligible for the discount.

You don't need custom variables for this. A smart group along with automatic discounts should be able to accomplish what you're trying to do.
To create a smart group:
- Goto Customer directory > Directory
- Select "+ Create group"
- Select "Smart group" and Next
- Select "Custom smart group" and Next
- Set your filters for the clients you want included in this list and Next.
- Name the group and Create group.
An example filter that can work for you is "Last visit: more than 1 day ago"
To apply an automatic discount to all clients in the smart group:
- Goto Items > Discounts
- Select "Create a Discount"
- Under "Automatic discount" turn on "Discount rules"
- Select "Customer groups" and Done
- Select the smart group that you just create and Done
- Save the discount
The smart group will contain clients that visited more than 1 day ago. The automatic discount will apply to the clients that are in the smart group. New clients will be automatically added to this group after 1 day.
