Description: We request the development of a feature within Square Appointments that allows businesses to set variable pricing for services based on both the day of the week and the time of day. This functionality would enable automatic adjustment of service prices depending on the specific day and time of the booking.

Business Need: Many businesses, including my own karaoke bar, have different pricing structures for services depending on the day of the week and the time of day. Currently, this requires creating multiple locations or manually adjusting prices, which can be cumbersome and confusing for both staff and clients. A built-in feature for variable pricing would streamline this process, enhance operational efficiency, and provide a better booking experience for clients.

Comparison with Other Software: Several scheduling and booking platforms, such as Fresha, Mindbody, and Acuity Scheduling, already offer the ability to set variable pricing based on the day of the week and the time of day. These platforms allow businesses to optimize their pricing strategies, respond to demand variations, and maximize revenue by offering peak and off-peak pricing.

Proposed Solution:

  • Feature Integration: Add an option in the service setup where businesses can specify different prices for each day of the week and different times of the day.
  • User Interface: Implement a simple interface in the Square Dashboard under Appointments settings, where users can input different rates for services for each day and time slot.
  • Automation: Ensure that the pricing adjusts automatically on the booking page based on the selected date and time.

  • Simplifies pricing management for businesses with variable pricing.
  • Enhances customer experience by providing clear, automatic pricing information.
  • Reduces the need for workarounds, such as creating multiple service locations, thus minimizing confusion and potential booking errors.

Usefulness for a Karaoke Bar Business: For a karaoke bar like mine, this feature is particularly valuable. Karaoke bars often experience varying levels of demand throughout the week and during different times of the day. For instance:

  • Weekday vs. Weekend Pricing: Weekends typically see higher demand, justifying higher prices, while weekdays may require lower prices to attract more customers.
  • Peak vs. Off-Peak Hours: Evening hours are usually more popular for karaoke, whereas afternoon slots might need lower prices to encourage bookings.

By implementing variable pricing, a karaoke bar can maximize occupancy during slower periods and capitalize on higher demand times, thereby optimizing revenue and ensuring a steady flow of customers throughout the week.

DId you find a solution for this? I'm looking for the same.

Would love this feature especially during winter months. We want to offer day/time specials to encourage clients to come in during times that aren’t as busy. Hoping square can offer a feature to help businesses keep up during slower months.
