Customer text box not working when sending SMS

If you go to your customer list and long press on their phone number, you used to be able to type a message in the pop up box when you selected send sms. For a few months now you are unable to send a message because the text box does not pop up just previous texts, but no where to type.  It’s super frustrating you have to copy the phone number and then go to the text message app on your phone and send it. I rarely use the messaging feature.

I am having the same issue with the Square Assistant messaging. The message box pops up but it will not give you the option to type anything. I have tried different computers and browsers.
